Welcome to the World of Slinkskins
A NATURAL RESOURCE
Slinkskins Limited was founded in the late 1960’s by the legendary Jack Hazlett, in response to what Jack considered to be a wasted resource among the New Zealand farming community.
IN THE BEGINNING
Jack identified the value of slink lamb skins during his 1967 All Black Tour of the United Kingdom. Upon returning he organized the local Drummond Rugby Club to collect and process lambs from their own farms.
Very soon the business grew to develop a strong network, enabling the collection of casualty lambs and calves from throughout New Zealand.
THE SLINKSKINS TANNERY
In the early 1980's the Slinkskins tannery was formed, with the purpose of developing specialized processes to tan and finish the locally collected materials.
A significant investment in specialist equipment and process R&D has seen Slinkskins recognised as providing a truly new and unique product.
Our leathers are now used by leading fashion houses throughout the world.
